VISITING
DENALI PARK
DENALI NATIONAL PARK,
FRONTCOUNTRY
This is where the fun begins. The first 14
miles of the Denali Park Road provide
abundant opportunities for recreation,
education, wildlife viewing and even a
view of Denali, The Great One,
if the weather cooperates.
TIP
Frontcountry trails are
ideal for families with
small children.
Stop at the Denali Park Visitor Center,
Denali Park Sled Dog Kennels or the
Murie Science & Learning Center to learn
more about our ecosystems, flora &
fauna, Denali Park Ranger presentations,
the Jr. Ranger program and hiking
opportunities within the park.
While the frontcountry is accessible by
private vehicle, we HIGHLY recommend
the free shuttle service, so you can focus
on the view and not the road. Shuttle
information can be found at: www.
nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/courtesyshuttle-buses.htm
For those interested in camping
inside the boundary of Denali
National Park & Preserve, there are
also campgrounds available in the
frontcountry. These may be booked
online at www.reservedenali.com and
we do recommend booking early.
