The SCI Kitchen
rd
The kitchen is located on the 3 ûoor behind the front desk area. We keep it stocked
with many things to make your life easier including coWee, tea, hot chocolate, milk,
half and half etc. We have SCI mugs you can use for your beverages and we
encourage you to use yours instead of so many paper cups. If you don9t get one during
your orientation, let us know and we9ll get you one!
We have two refrigerators, one in the kitchen and one in the café. You are welcome
to put your lunch in either of them. Please make sure your container is labeled with
your name and the date. If you fail to identify your food, you risk losing it to someone
who is looking for a free lunch. Also, the refrigerators are cleaned out every Friday
and lunches not identiûed will be thrown away, container and all.
We also have water machines that have cold water, hot water and ice cubes. There
is one on each ûoor.
The kitchen is for SCI employees and their guests. If you have visitors, please feel free
to oWer them coWee or tea.
We have an ongoing issue with people on campus assuming our kitchen is open to
anyone. Please be aware:
The kitchen is only for those who:
" Work for SCI
" Are oWicial visitors
We must frequently ask people who don't meet these criteria to leave.
If we ask who you are, please don't be oWended. We don't know everyone, and it's
important for us to check. It's also a great way for us to get to know new faces.
Do not put any kind of food waste or co?ee grounds in the sink. Anything that is
not a liquid needs to go in the trash. Please wipe out your dish before you wash
it. The sink clogs up very easily and it is expensive to get it ûxed.
Perhaps most importantly, please clean up any messes you make.
