HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HAND-CRAFTED, SOLID HARDWOOD INVESTMENT!

Please follow the tips to ensure the longevity of your new furniture.
CLEANING RECOMMENDATIONS
A soft, damp cloth is all you really need to keep your
fine heirloom furniture looking like new. Wiping with a
dry cloth can harm the furniture’s finish by scraping
small dirt particles into the surface. If you choose to
polish your furniture, avoid products with silicone,
wax, solvents or abrasives. Your dealer will
recommend a suitable polish.
SUNLIGHT EXPOSURE
While you may like lots of sunlight in your home, sunlight’s
ultraviolet rays can damage wood finishes. Please be sure
your new furniture is not in a location where the sun will
shine directly on it, or use sun screening drapes during
intense sunlight hours. Fluorescent light fixtures can also
cause changes in the wood or finish of your table.
PLEASE be careful when using laptops or tablets on the
tabletop, as these can get hot and could scratch the finish.
HEAT EXPOSURE
HUMIDITY CONTROL
Heat registers and other heat sources can cause
damage to your new dining set. Be sure to place it in
an area where there is air circulation and heat sources
are not directly blowing onto the table and chairs. Do
not place hot pans directly onto your tabletop. A table
pad will create a barrier between a hot pan and the
wood surface. At a minimum, a heavy-duty tablecloth
and trivets should always be used.
The humidity in your home can affect wood furniture. If the humidity is too
low, it may cause your Trailway furniture to dry out or crack. In contrast, high
levels of humidity may result in warping. By keeping the humidity level in
your home around 40-45%, you’ll have the ideal environment for preserving
the beauty of your new furniture.
WATER RESISTANT FINISH
The finish on your table is spillresistant, but it’s a good idea to wipe
up any moisture immediately.
Standing liquid willcause damage to
the wood and finish.
NAIL POLISH REMOVER
Although we use a high-quality heat-and-moisture resistant finish on our
tables, nail polish remover can cause severe damage to its finish. Please
avoid using it unless you cover the table surface first with a table pad.
FINISH RESISTANCE
Chemical resistance tests are performed to check the
coating’s ability to withstand substances typically
found in kitchen and bathrooms. Aristovar meets AWI
specifications TR-4 rating for chemical resistance.
