The primar y focus of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion (ODEI) is continuing to help our work force
understand the impor tance of equit y in all that we do.
ODEI continues to expand our workforce's understanding
and application of equit y, providing robust and accessible training options for all. The training program grew
again this year, adding additional topics, sessions, and
speakers.
One example of the ef fectiveness of the DEI training
program is the successful creation, implementation, and
launch of our budget equity tool. In 2022, ODEI established the equit y assessment tool development as one
of our equit y emphasis areas.

This year, to assist in developing our budget equit y tool,
under the coordination of ODEI, staf f from multiple
depar tments par ticipated in the Government Alliance
on Race and Equity (GARE) focus area training. We utilized the GARE training information and worked diligently
with Charles Count y Government's Budget Division
staf f to create and implement a budget equit y tool for
all departments. ODEI launched the budget equit y tool
during the fiscal 2025 cycle. The budget equit y tool
expands our organization's focus on positive community
impact. The budget equit y tool aims to help staf f consider the tradeof fs and benefits of our budget requests
and encourage positive outcomes for our communit y.
