FOUNDATION’S SCHOLARSHIP BRIDGE PROGRAM
As part of the Unbridled campaign, the Boise State University Foundation has committed $2.5 million to
provide a bridge match for qualifying new, and enhanced, scholarship gifts.
Donors who pledge to establish, or enhance, an endowed scholarship may schedule their payments
over five years to reach the $25,000 minimum. Normally, the entire gift commitment must be received
before the endowment produces scholarship funds, allowing Boise State to make the first scholarship
award. This causes a delay for both recipients and donors, who must wait to see the direct impact of their
philanthropy.
Now, when a donor commits to creating, or enhancing, a qualifying scholarship endowment with an
outright gift commitment, the Boise State Foundation will provide the payout while the donor completes
their payment, so students will begin receiving scholarships right away.
In 2023, donors made nearly $1 million in endowment commitments to establish 18 new funds using the
scholarship bridge program. As a result, the foundation is providing over $157k in direct aid to students in
the 2024-2025 academic year.
