A spectacular, 3-story Iron & Steel Gallery
includes the film “The Mystery of Steel,”
and the exhibition “Forging a Nation:
Johnstown Iron & Steel,” comprehensively
detailing Johnstown’s steel history and
technical innovations invented here,
from the 1700s through the present.
The exhibition “America: Through
Immigrant Eyes” tells a national story in a
local context: how Southern and Eastern
European immigrants from 1880-1914
came to work in the mills and mines, or
to escape religious persecution. Also at
the HDC: Johnstown Children’s Museum,
temporary exhibits, Ethnic Social Club
and events year-round.
