Bringing world-class musicians to
Johnstown since 2005, The Johnstown
Concert Series offers area residents
and visitors the opportunity to
hear outstanding classical and
jazz performances in an intimate
atmosphere. The six-concert season
runs from September through May.
All performances take place at First
Presbyterian Church in downtown
Johnstown, a location known for its
fabulous acoustics.

Cresson Lake Playhouse is a rustic pre-Civil
War barn tucked away in a picturesque
corner of the Southern Alleghenies. Not
one of the seats is more than 25 feet from
the stage. The barn theatre runs their
season from May-October.

Founded to encourage the development
of area dancers who are seriously
interested in the art of classical ballet.
Performances include, “The Nutcracker”

The Roxbury Bandshell is an outdoor
performance venue located in
Johnstown. Known for its open-air
design and spacious stage, it provides a
platform for various musical events and
performances. The structure typically
features a distinctive architectural
style, offering a unique atmosphere
for audiences to enjoy live music and
cultural events. The Roxbury Bandshell
Preservation Alliance hosts free Sunday
concerts during the summer. This historic
monument was built during the WPA and
is the last existing in the United States.

Sandyvale’s 18 acres of greenspace
in the heart of Johnstown with trails,
a dog park, greenhouse, and garden
rooms, provides a safe, outdoor, passive
recreational facility with displays of
beautiful flowers and garden rooms,
outdoor classrooms, and community
gardens. A greenhouse, outfitted
with a hydroponic growing system
and classroom provides educational
seminars for school children and
the community and an open-air
performance venue which is home to
the region’s premier annual Sandyvale
Wine Pairing Dinner and Festival.
