Paddlers can launch canoes or kayaks
at the following locations on the
Stonycreek River: Greenhouse Park
off Rt. 403 in Tire Hill; at Michigan
Ave. in Riverside; near the Hickory St.
Bridge (Johnstown); below the Inclined
Plane bridge off Rt. 56 in downtown
Johnstown. Conemaugh River launch
is at 6th Ave. & Power St., Johnstown in
the Cambria City section of Johnstown.
Beware of low head dams and other
river hazards. Be sure to obtain a water
trail map. For more information about

conservation, dam releases and the
remediation of environmental threats.
BCKC hosts the annual Stonycreek
Rendezvous, the Stony-KiskiConemaugh River Sojourn, and other

LAKES & RESERVOIRS
GLENDALE LAKE
Located about 35 miles north of
Johnstown, Prince Gallitzin State Park’s
1,635-acre Glendale Lake is a popular
destination for sailboats, canoes and
kayaks & powered boats up to 20HP.
It features nine public boat launching
areas; three public mooring facilities
and two marinas for sailboats, pontoon
boats & motorboats. Winter activities
include ice fishing, snowmobiling, and
ice skating. Concessions, fuel sales,
rentals, repairs, and other services are

FISHING
Cambria County offers varied fishing
opportunities with 15 stocked trout
streams and three stocked lakes. Chest
Creek features a delayed harvest,
artificial lures only section. Glendale
Lake is known for bass, muskellunge,
and panfish, especially spring crappies.
Lake Rowena, Wilmore and Hinckston
Run reservoirs, and Duman Dam offer
additional fishing opportunities. For
