• The remainder of the first floor could be dedicated
to retail and services, generating some of the
highest land rent in Freetown that would be critical
to providing the necessary return on investment. A
bank or an ATM bank kiosk would provide services
and a higher rent than many other users. The retail
would have windows and openings facing Goderich
Road/Clock Tower and Kissy Road. The first floor
would not contain any windows looking into the
school side of the building so as to protect the
schools privacy.
• The second floor could provide space for the
Annie Walsh School. The concept shows a school
gymnasium. This use would not be disturbed by
any cable car vibrations, and with transparent
walls (columns and grates) the cost of this space
is reasonable. The school might receive reduced
consideration for the ground lease in return for
being provided with the gymnasium.
• The active cable car station itself would be on the
third floor, with no windows facing the school itself
to protect the schools privacy and deaden noise.

• With up to 6,000 passengers a day at peak, this site
would immediately become among the highest if
not the highest volume cable car stop, while greatly
strengthening the Annie Walsh School and the
entire Clock Tower/Eastern Police neighborhood.
• Rainwater on the roof of the station can be
captured and sent to underground cisterns,
reducing immediate flooding during the wet season
and providing a water supply as needed.
The school-facing side of the Ann Walsh cable car station can add a gymnasium to the school, provide some return to the school from a ground lease, and deaden the sounds coming from the Clock Tower/Eastern Police neighborhood.
