A NOTE ON THE NEXT
20 YEARS AND BEYOND
MIDDLE EAST
There is so much we are excited for when thinking as a team about the next 20 years of PeacePlayers Middle East. It’s true
that outside of our PeacePlayers family, Israeli and Palestinian societies are becoming increasingly unstable and extremist
powers are growing. However, instead of letting these frightening realities stifle us, we are making a conscious choice to
double down on our investment in Jewish-Arab partnership – one basketball practice, one game at a time. Our alumni
network of young Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders is getting bigger every year, and we are excited for the opportunities
we can offer to them, as they deepen their commitment as leaders in our organization and in their communities.
WE ARE ALSO EXCITED TO WIDEN OUR GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE, REACHING NEW COMMUNITIES, ENGAGING UNAFFILIATED
YOUTH, AND GIVING MORE AND MORE GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW
AS ATHLETES, LEADERS, AND PEACEBUILDERS.
In the West Bank, specifically, we envision growing our program and safely reaching more partner communities, leveling
the playing field by providing athletic and leadership opportunities to girls who may not otherwise have access to them.
