SEMINAL MOMENTS
2 years after PeacePlayers Middle East’s launch, the
organization starts engaging girls. Girls’ participation in
programming steadily increased, as did female leadership
in the organization. Today, gender equity still remains a
pillar of the Middle East’s programming.
2007
OVER 80% OF OUR PARTICIPANTS ARE GIRLS,
AND ABOUT 90% OF LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THE
ORGANIZATION ARE HELD BY WOMEN
The first All-Stars team is established, becoming the only
mixed Palestinian-Israeli girl’s team from Jerusalem to
compete in the official Israeli league.
