The Black Culture Excellence community showcases and highlights examples of Black Culture from
the past and present. The community provides residents with opportunities to enhance their college
experience through co-curricular programs and engagement with both the Cooper-Woodson College
Enhancement and Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholars programs. The Black Cultural Excellence community
encourages students to examine their identity through an inter-sectional lens and advances an
understanding of Black Cultures and Pan African concepts.
The Full Circle Project aims to improve retention and graduation rates of underrepresented
Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and other high-need students through rigorous
coursework, academic support, intentional student organization and leadership opportunities,
career planning and meaningful community engagement.
The Honors Community brings together residents who are accepted into the General Education
Honors Program and provides a challenging, innovative, and stimulating learning experience.
Residents also take academic classes in Riverview Hall.
The Global Village is intended to build community and friendships among international students
and domestic students. Residents of the Global Village engage in cultural events, specialized
programs and engage with other students from different cultural backgrounds.

TRANSFER
COMMUNITY
The Transfer Community is designed for students who have transferred into Sacramento State.
This community will provide support and resources to assist in their transition. The goal is to
provide transfer students with unique opportunities, programs, and support while living with
others who are on a similar transitional journey. Residents in this community will experience
topics/programs on career exploration, acclimation to the campus, build relationships, and a
focus on specific academic goals.
