ANNUAL REPORT 2021
LETTER FROM THE
PRESIDENT
As another year ends, it is time to look back and reflect on the past 12 months. While we
had no idea what 2021 held for us as, we were still navigating the pandemic, it is our
member’s demanding work, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the construction
industry that have been the cornerstone of ABC Illinois’ progress and success.
This year, we have made impressive progress in educating members of the Illinois
General Assembly on the negative impact Project Labor Agreements have on taxpayers,
we have navigated the constantly and rapidly evolving mandates being handed to us by
the Federal and State governments, we have increased our training opportunities across
the state by offering on-line classes and we continue to work to create a more diverse
and inclusive industry. Despite all the challenges, our volunteer team of leaders and staff
have upheld their focus and let not one opportunity go.
There is still plenty to achieve for the next year, and I am sure that, with your help, we will
keep up with our excellence. Thank you, once again, for your commitment and invaluable
contributions toward helping ABC Illinois continue to be leading the way in our state’s
construction industry. The success of our association is built on the commitment of you,
our members, working to protect The Merit Shop Philosophy and Free Enterprise.
We have come through a year that was filled with both challenges and victories. How
reassuring it has been to know that we can count on all of you regardless of what faces
us. On behalf of ABC Illinois please allow me to extend my personal and genuine
appreciation to each one of you for your valuable contributions to our industry and ABC
Illinois. I am honored to serve as your Chapter President.
Yours in Merit Shop,
Alicia Martin
