“I believe in United Way because it’s an effective
organization in helping meet the needs of others. It’s
been very effective in getting together diverse groups,
identifying problems within our community and
providing leadership and solving those problems.”
Alberto was the first Latino to serve as White House
Counsel. He comes from modest beginnings as one
of eight children in a small town outside of Houston,
Texas, and believes education should remain a top
priority in Nashville. He’s a strong supporter of United
Way initiatives that prepare students for the first day
of school.

them to know they’re fully supported.”
