TOGETHER WE CAN
Give Kids an
Equal Chance
How much money a parent makes and where a child lives shouldn’t
chance to do well in school. That’s why we’re making sure they enter
kindergarten ready to learn, have the support they need to develop
crucial reading skills and receive essential social and emotional
support from preschool to graduation.
Three out of four of Nashville’s third graders are not reading on grade
level. We’re leading the Blueprint for Early Childhood Success, a
citywide effort to ensure literacy justice for all kids. Together, we’re
making sure children have access to books through Imagination
Library; providing accessible, high-quality child care and pre-K
programs through Childcare Nashville; supporting early educators
through Read to Succeed and tutoring students who are falling behind
with Raise Your Hand.
