of Poverty
With the rising cost of housing, child care and groceries, too many
kind of poverty that straps families for generation after generation.
We owe it to our neighbors to provide clear and attainable pathways
to more stable futures.
We’re working alongside our partners to help individuals receive
education and training that will set them on the path to a financially
secure future. Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance free tax prep
program saves taxpayers hundreds on filing fees—leading to more
money to use on essentials like food, rent, gas and child care.
Individualized counseling at the Financial Empowerment Center helps
those who are struggling move toward greater financial stability by
working through debt, improving credit, creating spending plans and
saving for the future.

people in our community are stuck in an endless cycle of poverty—the
6,742 tax returns were completed by volunteers bringing more than
$10 million in tax refunds back into our community
$3,691,166 in debt was reduced through financial counseling provided
by the Financial Empowerment Center
531 SNAP Employment & Training participants obtained an industry
credential while working towards employment
2,188 free financial counseling sessions were provided through our
Financial Empowerment Center
