Improving literacy rates.
Making sure kids graduate.
Three out of four of Nashville’s
third graders are not reading
on grade level. The chance of
catching them up when they miss
this milestone is very limited.
The Blueprint for Early Childhood
Success is doubling the number
of third graders reading on grade
level by 2025 by addressing
chronic absenteeism, tackling
summer learning loss, providing
access to books in the classroom
and so much more.
Almost 20 percent of Metro
Nashville Public School students
aren’t graduating from high
school. We are confronting this
challenge by supporting social
and emotional education and
providing opportunities for
mentorship and guidance. We
also offer tutoring programs like
Raise Your Hand in Williamson
County schools to ensure
students receive one-on-one
reading and math support.
