Families are struggling to put food on the table, keep their lights on and pay
their rent. Depression and anxiety are on the rise. Children are falling behind in
school. Workplaces scramble to protect their employees.
And many of our most disadvantaged communities are being affected
the hardest.
After suffering nearly a year through the COVID-19 crisis, our community
was hit by another disaster with the downtown explosion on Christmas Day,
leaving many residents and employees displaced from their homes and jobs.
To say this past year was challenging is not sufficient. It has tested us
individually, and as a community. But we stepped up to help our neighbors in
truly inspiring ways.
