COVID has made people
understand that we need
each other—that we need to
collaborate with each other in
order to get ahead. You never
know what people are going
through. I helped this young
man; he was a struggling
single father who lost his job in
construction because he had a
heart attack. I gave him some
comforting words and told him
that those boys—he had two
small boys—they needed him
and to just keep the faith and
that things would change. I
helped him to get connected to
food and get help with his rent.
He was very grateful and he
still keeps in touch with me.”
