Sunday
worship
Pubs were made for lazy Sundays. Or was it the other way
around? It’s one of our best-loved days – the vibe is chilled
(unless the rugby’s on), the drinks are hit-the-spot delicious,
and the food is nothing short of epic.
Warning: the following picture-painting is designed to entice.
There are people enjoying the wake-up call of a nicely
spicy Bloody Mary (for medicinal purposes only).
There are people sitting down to a mega Sunday roast
with the family.
There are people reading the papers with a perfectly pulled
pint after a long dog walk.
And there are people squeezing every last drop of fun out
of the weekend with their mates.
Sounds good, doesn’t it?
We have to say a little more about our Sunday roasts.
They’re sacred. So much so that our kitchen teams have
special training days to make sure they get them bang on.
And every chef sees it as a personal challenge to make the best.
To begin with, all our meat is locally sourced, and the trimmings
are a joy to read, let alone taste. There are our beef-dripping
roasties and maple roasted parsnips. And don’t forget our superior
double-egg Yorkshire puddings (skip to page 9 for the recipe)
with lashings of proper gravy (made to a tried-and-true recipe).
How about cauli昀氀ower cheese made with Truf昀氀ed Pitchford
Cheddar or ‘pigs in duvets’ (essentially posh sausages wrapped
in a layer of crispy bacon)? Mouth watering yet?
And to seduce you further, we have a special Sunday Stays offer
for your Sunday night sleepovers. Grab one of our oh-so-cosy
rooms plus dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning
from just £140. You’ve gotta love a Sunday.
