This Impact Report focuses on a single graduating class of upReach Associates - the 353

Associates who graduated from university in 2019. It explores
their engagement and outcomes
whilst on upReach’s programmes and their subsequent outcomes post-graduation.
upReach is guided by its mission to support undergraduates from less-advantaged backgrounds
to access and sustain top graduate jobs. In order to measure our effectiveness against this aim, we
conduct a Graduate Outcomes analysis each year. For this, we use HESA’s Graduate Outcomes
Survey, a survey that collects data on the destination of all UK undergraduates 15 months after
graduating. This data allows us to compare the outcomes of upReach Alumni against various
benchmarks (pp.10-13).5
Amongst the graduates, we also compare the Graduate Outcomes of Associates with varying
levels of engagement with upReach interventions and skill development (measured using our
Graduate Employability Framework) (pp.22-24). This analysis enables us to comment further on
the association between upReach activities and positive Graduate Outcomes.
Finally, throughout the Report, we feature several of the 2019 graduates, as they reflect upon the
impact upReach’s programmes have had on their individual career journeys.
