TMWCC Magazine Report
December 2023
A wet year, when all warm-up
matches and the 昀椀rst Surrey
Championship Saturday were washed
out, gave no indica}on of what was to
follow. The Commi琀琀ee con}nued its
bold approach to recruitment and
were rewarded for their foresight and
endeavour, playing a key role in
improving player strength throughout.
The singular objec}ve for the 1st XI
was to gain promo}on, a goal that
was decisively secured by winning
their division with a game to spare. 5

another strong push for consecu}ve

Overall results clearly demonstrate
that the 3rd XI has the capability to get
promoted. A commendable 3rd place

unfortunately just shy of the required
top two places. To achieve this a
be琀琀er start to the season is necessary,
requiring good availability in May and
June and key players remaining 昀椀t. It
is pleasing to see a number of
talented juniors coming through and
the 3rd XI remains an important
plavorm for them to play compe}}ve
senior cricket, with an opportunity to
develop.
The 4th XI ended on a high note
winning 3 of the last 4 games.
Generally, matches were hard fought

enthusiasm never wavering despite
