Case Study
Project Background
South West Water has developed a new £60
million state-of-the-art water treatment works
to serve Plymouth and the surrounding area.
The project will represent the first time that several
new innovative technologies have been used in
the UK. We were pleased to be able to assist with
the provision of flexible dual contained dosing
lines from our Double Safe range together with
matched fittings and catch pot. These provided the
infrastructure for the transfer of various chemicals
from storage tanks to the dosing kiosks and to the
final point of application to service many of these
new processes.
Partnership Approach
and Solution
By adopting
a partnering
approach to
delivery we were
jointly able to develop
the scope of the solution
having regard to the larger scope of
works on the project. Our TF Double Safe range
of dual containment was selected and formed
the foundation of the solution.
It has been developed and used widely in the
water treatment sector over a number of years
as a cost-effective solution that allows selection
of carrier material to suit the media and other
requirements. This flexibility also proved important
for the terminations utilising the physical “air gap”
between the containment tube and the carrier.
Allowing us to better match the different
connection requirements and sizes
We worked closely with the
contractor that had been awarded
the chemical dosing installation
and types of the various dosing
kiosks and equipment. This
included offering tank/POA
from an early part of
pass through solutions and
the process.
