INDUSTRIAL COMMERCIAL
SERVICES: TELESALES
The ICS Telesales team plays an important part in
generating new leads for the business. This includes
making outbound calls to potential prospects, qualifying
any inbound enquiries that come through and booking
appointments for sales consultants. We caught up with
them to find out more about what their roles entail…

I am responsible for all
prospect leads in ICS, and
a key part of this is ensuring
that the team is always
motivated, as well as leading
by example and following
all the company values.
With 400 – 500 calls per day
and around 80% of these
leading to rejection (where
the prospect isn’t interested),
I need to make sure that the
team are resilient and happy
every day…’smile and dial’ is
my motto, as you never know
what the next call may bring.
I really enjoy the responsibility
of being in control of my own
department, and believe that
success can be achieved by
believing in your own ability,

knowing the numbers you
need to hit your target and
having a smart plan in place
which can be measured daily.
The most rewarding aspect of
my role is the team’s overall
success and being recognised
at the sales conferences in
front of all the ICS community
and senior leadership team.
Since launching three years
ago, ICS telesales have
become an established
team within the business,
and we have achieved
this by setting new records,
avoiding complacency and
continuously improving
I enjoy speaking to customers
on a daily basis, and the most
rewarding aspect of my job
is when an appointment I have
booked converts into a sale.
It can be hard when calls end
in rejection, but I overcome
this through perseverance and
a willingness to keep going.
My team are friendly and
easy to get on with, and so
is everyone else at Elis, which
makes it a great place to work.
Elis is the largest and most
corporate business I have
worked for, but they have
helped me to integrate really
well, and I have already
learnt a lot within my first
eighteen months in the role.
