Dave has been a competition cyclist since the age of 14 when he was growing up in Cleethorpes, and continued racing
in the RAF during service in the Suez Canal Zone. He joined the St Ives Cycling Club in 1985 taking part in time trials and
touring, and now competes for veteran standard medals.
Photography was a passion from an even younger age - he bought a camera before owning a bike and won the
Beginner’s Prize at Grimsby Photographic Club when only 12. He was a member of the St Ives Photographic Club for
many years, specialising in black & white.
At Grimsby Dave was Quality Control Manager for Findus Frozen Foods, and a borough councillor. He remained politically
active after moving to St Ives and was secretary of the Huntingdon constituency Labour Party during the 1990s.

St Ives Cricket Club was formed in 1872
and has played at the St Ivo Outdoor
complex in California Road for the last 25
years. Before then, its ground was Slepe
playing field (opposite Slepe Hall Hotel).
In 2002 the club had 4 senior teams
competing in the Huntingdonshire Cricket
League, and a thriving junior group with
teams in all age ranges from under-11s
through to under-17s. St Ives won the
Millman Salver in 1988 and 1997.
Andy moved to Somersham in 1996 after
graduating from De Montford University
with a Degree in Sports Science. Initially
he played cricket for Over CC, but joined
St Ives in 2000 and moved house into the
town that same year. He was made
captain in 2001.
In working life he’s a recruitment
consultant in Cambridge.
