A menswear shop has been on the Cadge site
since 1903 but was formerly owned by Bryant’s.
Gurteen bought it in the 1970s but kept the Bryant
name until the shop was refurbished in 1992, when
it was re-named Robert Cadge and later just
Cadge.
Richard, who was originally with Burtons in
Norwich, took over as manager in 1985 and was
the genial president of the St Ives Chamber of
Commerce for 7 years until his retirement in 2002.
He enjoys walking holidays and plays golf, and
recently took the decision to move back to the
Norwich area.
