OBJECTIVE 3 - SUPPORTING DIVERSE CREW TO PROGRESS WITHIN
A MORE INCLUSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE WORKPLACE CULTURE
Connected Communities aims to create an engaging programme of
themed live, virtual and hybrid nagship events to support northern crew
and production companies with insights into alternative and emerging
industry practice from the UK and around the world.
HOW IT WORKS
"
Work in collaboration with partners to deliver the range of events
"
Themed to communicate and reinforce our vision for the northern
screen workforce and to celebrate achievements
"
Events to meet sustainability goals
Connected Communities was to be our orst collaborative
project as an organisation, to be delivered across all four
partners of Screen Alliance North. This involved working
together on branding and messaging, with freelance
support for delivery for the four partners.
HIGHLIGHTS
We utilised the opportunity of exhibiting at FOCUS 2023 in London (a two-day event
of networking, meetings and conference sessions for the creative screen industries)
to launch our Connected Communities agenda for good working practice.
This was the orst time that the members
of Screen Alliance North exhibited
together. We took part in a number
of panel discussions, and hosted a
reception with Coalition for Change to
discuss support for freelancers.
In its orst year, the Connected
Communities programme delivered
three themed events across the region
in collaboration with the BBC9s Bring the
Drama festival and sponsored by BBC
Commissioning. Altogether, 276 people
attended the three events either in
person or online.
