OBJECTIVE 3 - SUPPORTING DIVERSE CREW TO PROGRESS WITHIN
A MORE INCLUSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE WORKPLACE CULTURE
Connected Opportunities ofers localised career development support, connecting
productions and experienced northern professionals with diverse crew who are
looking to step up, return to the industry or move to a diferent screen role.

Much of the work for year one was designed to
provide the framework for future activity within
the Connected Opportunities programme.
HIGHLIGHTS
Important groundwork has been
undertaken, including the development
of a standardised application process
for beneociaries, the trialling of crew
development opportunities through
existing strands of work and initial
discussions with partners for working
on mentoring and shadowing schemes
in the second year.
Activities include surveys to evaluate the
needs of local crew and initial events and
one-to-one mentoring sessions.
North East Screen hosted a launch
event for Crew CPD, a crew mixer,
careers and networking events, and
ofered one-to-ones with existing crew
to ascertain CPD options.
Screen Yorkshire organised a Native
Creative Training and Skills Day, and
delivered over 40 one-to-one mentoring
sessions as part of Next Level, opening
individually tailored opportunities to a highly
diverse cohort.
Liverpool Film Oïce provided a place on
a Traïc Management and Community
Events course for a local locations assistant
and organised a crew summer social.
Screen Manchester and Screen Yorkshire
organised a networking social.
