Did you know that most of the “connected or WiFi” heating products on the market are not really
connected at all? Unlike the WiFi Direct system - exclusive to Rointe - the vast majority require expensive
external devices that must be installed next to or with your router.

The products connect directly to the router without intermediate gateways, allowing higher
data transmission speeds and eliminating any limits on the number of connected devices.
Communications are encrypted, ensuring the integrity and security of the exchanged data. In
addition, no additional configuration is required on the user’s router.

Other “connnected” systems via a gateway
These products are connected via radio frequency to a switchboard or smartbox (which
is usually limited to 8 connected products on average). To obtain a “WiFi” connection, the
control unit must be connected by cable to the router, which must be configured so that
the connection between the App and the products is fluid. It is important to note that these
“gateways” must be purchased separately at a price of around £80, a hidden cost which
increases the final price of the product.
