I’ve always been curious
about how things worked,
and have spent my career in
pharmaceutical manufacture,
trying to make things work better.
A highlight of my career has been
setting up the fill-finish manufacture of
the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine,
going from an empty production line to full
scale manufacture in 5 months – about 10 times
quicker than the usual process for a new
product. It was brilliant to work on something
that even my 5 year old nephew understood,
and improve the general perception of what the
life sciences industry is capable of.
