Exploring the Annual Programme
A core element of our u3a is our Activity Groups, of which there are nearly
60. They all give us an opportunity to enjoy “learning, laughing and living”
with like-minded people. In this booklet we give a brief outline of each
group and links to enable you to learn more about them.
• If there is a particular group you would like to read about simply click
on its name on page 5. This is a link and it will take you straight to the
correct page in the programme.
• If you are interested in joining the group then click on the link under
‘Contact’. This will take you to the group’s web page where there is a
‘message button’ which allows you to send an email to the group
leader who is the person best placed to help you. Often, they can
organise taster sessions but for insurance reasons you cannot just pop
along for the afternoon or take a friend!
You can join as many groups as you wish. The timetable on pages 16 and
17 allows you to see, at a glance, when and how often groups are
scheduled. This may lead to difficult choices if two groups you would like
to join are on at the same time. But isn’t that a nice problem to have!
Some activities that are also our open to all our members. These include;
• Monthly meetings which are held at the historic Cross Barn in Odiham
on the first Wednesday of each month. These meetings also provide an
opportunity to socialise with other members over a cup of coffee. All
the talks for the rest of the year are detailed on page 6
• We offer occasional Study Days, Theatre Trips and other Trips & Events
as opportunities present themselves, more details can be found on
page 26.
• An IT Surgery provided by Andrew Buchanan; support and advice
available on a wide range of IT topics—see page 27
We also have groups with a set ‘life span’ plus an arrangement with Fleet
u3a to join their Rollers trips which use accessible coaches, see page 27.
