Science and Technology
We run a programme of monthly talks on a
broad range of science and technology
topics, focussing mainly on areas of current
interest. Meetings are held in the Cross
Barn where coffee or tea is offered from
10:00, the presentation starts at 10:30. The
invited speaker presents either in person or
on Zoom with a Q & A session following. We
also try to organise one or two visits per
year.

We are a small friendly group and we enjoy
our relaxed and sociable afternoons
playing Scrabble. Scrabble is an excellent
way to increase your vocabulary and we
have enjoyed discovering new words such
as xenon, xylem and quetzal.
One of our members took up
playing after a break of fifty
years, so it’s never too late
to enjoy the challenge of the game.
Shakespeare Uncovered Deborah Markham
Our small group continues to find a wealth
of plays, sonnets and Shakespeare related
themes and interpretations for study. We
enjoy using the AV facilities in the Cross
Barn to watch a range of interesting
productions and the discussions
which follow are light-hearted and
fun, with contributions from everyone.
In this venue we have space for a few more
members.
