Groups
Play Reading Sue Mitchell
This is a relaxed and informal group of
people who enjoy reading plays of all
genres, written by a wide variety of
playwrights including Shakespeare, Harold
Pinter, Alan Ayckbourn, Noel Coward, John
Osborne, Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams
and many more. The plays often provoke
interesting and lively discussions which
enrich our meetings. Suggestions for
suitable plays are always welcome.
Poetry Too Jan Mabbott
We are a relaxed and friendly group who
love reading and listening to poetry.
Members suggest a poet or theme to be
read and discussed each month or
occasionally we choose a well-known
singer and listen to and discuss the lyrics..
Our meetings are
enthusiastic, informative,
light-hearted or serious
and we have lots of fun and laughter.
Recorder Playing Nicki Baker
We aim to enjoy playing a range of music
and improve our musical skills. We are a
mixed ability group, varying in experience
and confidence and we learn together as
we go. We all play descant recorder and
some members also play treble/tenor. New
members need some experience
of playing the recorder and reading
music and must be prepared to
purchase a tutor book/ sheet music.
