Odiham District u3a Annual Programme 2023 - 2024
Groups
Mah Jong Pat Jones
Mah Jong may appear to be a complicated
game but it is really very easy to learn and
you can quickly become proficient at
playing the basic game.
You don’t need to own a Mah Jong set as
we have plenty of sets available
within the group. Our focus is
on playing in a relaxed
and friendly atmosphere.
MOTO Roger Booth/Mary Turrell
A group for members on their own or whose
partners are unable to accompany them to
social events. We currently hold a short
social event on Zoom on the first Friday of
most months and a drop in Coffee morning
on the second Saturday of each month or a
Bank Holiday if more appropriate.
Each year we also try to arrange lunches and
afternoon teas at local eateries; games
afternoons, day trips to places of interest
and short holidays.
Music for All Veronica Cannan
We meet over coffee to listen to, and
discuss, music of all kinds – from Classical
to Jazz to Modern. Sometimes we have a
presentation on a particular composer or
theme. Other times each member brings
along a piece of music of their own choice
and shares it with the group. Our venue
allows us to make use of a large
screen so we can illustrate our
presentations with videos etc.
