UZBEKISTAN - ancient Silk Road cities
of Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand, where
the ‘Great Game’ was played out. Visit
the marooned boats in the Aral Sea (road
conditions permitting). Explore Khiva’s
medressas, medinas and mausoleums
and the Juma Mosque. Bukhara - an
attractive city founded in the 13th Century.
Wander its narrow streets or pick up some
souvenirs in one of the many bazaars.
Drive across the Kyzylkum Desert beauty and harshness in one. Samarkand
- around 2,500 years old and famous for
its splendid architecture including the
Bibi-Khanum Mosque and the Registan.
TAJIKISTAN - UNESCO town of
Shahrisabz (time allowing). Dushanbe
- Tajikistan’s capital.

Fann Mountains - peaks of over
