Weeks 1 & 2 (Weeks 16 & 17)
EGYPT - Cairo, guided day tour to the
Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza and Egyptian
History Museum. Red Sea Coast - relax
on the beach or snorkel and scuba dive.
Luxor - optional tours to the Valley of
the Kings, Queens and Workers. Two day
felucca sailboat on the Nile to Edfu and/or
Kom Ombo. Aswan - the temple at Philae
or Elephantine Island. Abu Simbel - visit
the great stone monuments of Ramses II.
Cross the Sudanese border to Wadi Halfa.
KENYA - drive through northern
Kenya and East Africa’s Great
Rift Valley.
Weeks 7 to 9 (Weeks 9 to 11)
UGANDA - Kampala, Uganda’s
capital. Explore Lake Bunyonyi.
Mountain Gorillas - trek to see these
amazing creatures. RWANDA - visit
the moving Genocide Memorial in
Kigali. UGANDA - Jinja - the source
of the Nile, whitewater rafting, quad
biking, or visit a local school and
orphanage. KENYA - Lake Nakuru
National Park - game drive to spot
wildlife. Lake Naivasha - Crater
Lake Game Sanctuary or Hells Gate
National Park - walk or cycle through
these parks. Elsamere - visit the
home of Joy Adamson of Born Free
fame. Nairobi - visit a Giraffe Centre
and Elephant Orphanage.
Those on the 9 week trip finish
here in Nairobi.
Week 3 (Week 15)
SUDAN - Nubian Desert. Pyramids at
Meroe. Khartoum, the capital, Hamed
al Nil Tomb and Omdurman Souq - the
largest market in Sudan.
Weeks 4 to 6 (Weeks 12 to 14)
ETHIOPIA - Gondar - optional trip to the
holy city of Axum. Bahir Dar and the rockhewn
churches of Lalibela. Lake Tana and
monasteries dating back 900 years. Blue
Nile Gorge. Addis Ababa, the capital. Omo
Valley - tribes famous for their lip plates.
