Days 1 to 4
KENYA - Nairobi, drive down into
The Great Rift Valley. Lake Naivasha
and Elsamere - the home of Joy Adamson
and Elsa the Lion of Born Free fame.
Crater Lake Game Sanctuary or Hells
Gate National Park (walk through or hire
bikes - the only parks in Kenya where
this is allowed). Lake Nakuru National
Park - game drive to spot lion, leopard,
buffalo, rhino, zebra and flamingo. Cross
the Equator.
Days 5 to 10
UGANDA - Jinja, the source of the Nile,
whitewater rafting, quad biking or visit a
local school and orphanage. Kampala,
Uganda’s capital, take a city tour. Explore
Uganda’s Lake Bunyonyi by canoe.
Mountain Gorillas - optional trek to see
these majestic creatures in Bwindi or
Mgahinga National Park.
Days 11 to 13
RWANDA - stay at Musanze, a town
on the edge of the Virunga Mountains,
opportunity to go to the grave of Dian
Fossey. Visit the moving Genocide
Memorial in Kigali.
Those on the 13 day trip
finish here in Kigali.
Days 14 to 19
UGANDA & KENYA - See the Sipi
Falls in Uganda and the Kakamega
tropical rainforest in Kenya en-route
to the Maasai Mara. Two fully guided
game drives in search of the Big 5 and
other wildlife before continuing back to
Nairobi.
Trekking to a family of highland Mountain Gorillas
has to be one of the top wildlife encounters in Africa.
The trek to locate the Gorillas can take several hours
and you will be in high grass or thick vegetation on the
forested slopes of the awesome Bwindi or Mgahinga
National Park.
Accompanied by park rangers, you will track these
rare, gentle giants and once you have located the
Gorilla family you will have an hour to enjoy this truly
amazing experience.
