Fes is the oldest and largest medieval
city in the world. Its medina, home to
400,000 inhabitants, with only donkeys and
bikes for transportation, is a heady mix of
aromas, sights and sounds. Our guided tour
explores the dye-pits, tanneries, pharmacy,
pottery and restaurants. In the evening we
have the chance of an optional traditional
meal and entertainment with music, belly
dancing and magicians.
Days 1 & 2 (2 meals)
Marrakech - Meet at Marrakech airport
and transfer to start hotel. An evening
welcome meeting with your Tour Leader
and group. Casablanca - option to visit the
spectacular Hassan II Mosque, the largest
mosque in Morocco with the world’s tallest
minaret of 210m (not available during
Ramadan). Free time to explore.
Days 5 & 6 (4 meals)
Time to head towards the great desert and
Merzouga, where we transfer to camels for
a trek into the Sahara Desert and a night at
our authentic Berber Camp. We enjoy local
food, music and an amazing night out under
the Saharan stars. Todra Gorge - We leave
the desert for this 1000ft gorge hemmed
in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs.
We have free time to explore the Gorge,
walk through the Palmerie or try out Rock
Climbing (optional).
Days 3 & 4 (2 meals)
Morocco’s capital Rabat. Our guided tour
includes the Oudaia Kasbah in the oldest
part of the city and we have the opportunity
to see the Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace
and Chellah. We have a lunch stop in
Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities
before moving on to the Roman settlement
of Volubilis for a guided tour. This UNESCO
listed site dates back to AD40 and is the
largest ancient site in Morocco.
Days 7 to 9 (5 meals)
Leaving Todra we visit Ouarzazate for
the opportunity to take a tour of the
Film studios, famous for films such as
Gladiator, The Last Temptation of Christ
and the Living Daylights. On a hill along the
Ouarzazate River we find Aït Benhaddou, a
UNESCO World Heritage site, which boasts
great examples of Kasbahs. This afternoon
we have a guided tour of the famous
Kasbah and village.

to Marrakech set against the
snow-capped Atlas Mountains. No
visit to the city is complete without
experiencing the city’s UNESCOlisted medina and Djemâa-el-Fna,

breakfast on day 9.
