Recycling of microfiber
Why not to new microfiber products?
If we recycle from textile to textile, the technology is
not yet developed enough to solve that task.
The textile composition in microfiber is more complicated than textiles for clothing, when it comes to
options for recycling.
We follow developments closely and constantly
optimize our processes so that they are adapted to
the latest and best technological solutions.
And it is only within the clothing waste fraction
that there are well-established collection systems.
Microfiber is further down the waste hierarchy, which
is why it continues to be burned. Unless it is collected
through TAKE BACK by NMF – a return system where
waste becomes resources.
We collect. We sort. We recycle.
Recycling of the future
Recycle microfiber with NMF
”The textile industry lags behind when it comes to
resource utilization. Today, only a very small part of
our textile waste is recycled, and there are no
effective technologies for separation of mixed
textiles*”.

With TAKE BACK by NMF, we have challenged the
non-existing solutions for recycling microfiber. But
we are not stopping here. An industrial roll is the final
product in version 1.0. Our goal is that by 2025, we
will recycle used microfiber for new yarns. Yarns,
which can be used to produce new ones microfiber
cloths and mops.
