The mix of tracks and regularities was
perfect. This in combination with the
fabulous hotels and the sensational
roads made the Carrera Iberia a top
event!
Here, a finishers award awaited each of
the crews and the accompanying glass of
chilled port was just the thing they needed
to get the evening’s prize-giving celebrations
off to a flying start.
The solid pairing of Jim Gately and Tony
Brooks, in the distinctive and very rare, red
Kurtis Comet (pictured left) took top the
honours in the Vintage Category, with Alan
and Tina Beardshaw claiming their first ever win in the Classics Category aboard
their glorious Aston Martin DB5 (centre two pictures below).
‘Having never won anything other than Tina’s hand in marriage, today is a very
special day for me, we’re absolutely thrilled. I’m not sure it gets much better than
this.’
We are delighted that our first ‘Carrera’ event was a such a hit, down to the
hard work of the fantastic team both at Rally HQ and on our rallies. We have more
‘Carrera’ rallies in the calendar, featured later in the Gazette.

I’ve done three rallies in six weeks
all run by different companies
and, without a shadow of a doubt,
this is head and shoulders above
everything.
