Jim Gately and Tony Brooks, 1947 Kurtis Comet “... this really has been
a fantastic event”
Alan and Tina Beardshaw with Roland the rally car, winners of the
Classic category “we’re absolutely thrilled.”
Kurtis Comet, after Tony suggested they should bring an
all American sports car and this was just the ticket. “Once
again I’d like to thank the organising team, this really has
been a fantastic event. The route was brilliant, the hotels
were superb and the hospitality throughout was second to
none. We are definitely coming back for some more”.
As well as the class and overall prizes, there were some
discretionary awards. Gavin and Diana Henderson took
the Against All Odds trophy; Clemens and Emilia Lansing
scooped Spirit of the Rally; whilst Peta Oatley was given
the Bonhams Special Mention.
As the dining room emptied, the bar began to fill and it
was here that the chatter became even more excited as past
mistakes were analysed and plans were laid for the future.
