Focusing on the fact that blood makes sounds as it
travels through the body, Ruth has drawn a parallel

The shape of the mezuzah is intended to show the
human silhouette. The different sizes of speakers on
the surface suggest a feeling of flowing. Inside the
mezuzah, a wire spring form holds the parchment in
place. This represents the waves and vibrations caused
by the movement – and hence sound – of blood flowing
around the body.
