It has taken four years and £90m to build the Blood
Centre, a partnership between Magen David Adom UK,
American Friends of Magen David Adom, and the
Government of Israel.
The six-story building is built to a depth of 15 metres
and accommodates 400 staff. Located in Ramle, this
state-of-the-art facility is close to all major routes, giving
unparalleled access to the length and breadth of Israel.
As well as storing blood supplies for the entire country,
the Centre includes laboratories for haematological
research, additional space for blood donations, and a
human milk bank. Furthermore, it serves as a logistical
centre for storing medical emergency supplies,
streamlining the capabilities of the entire service,
and allowing medical teams to reach emergencies
faster, no matter when or where these occur.
