Openreach and Morrison Telecom
Services Host Behavioural Safety Event
Morrison Telecom Services and Openreach collaborated to hold a behavioural safety
event earlier this year in order to give participants an understanding of what drives
everyday safe behaviours.
Held at Openreach’s Sevenoaks office, the coached interactive session was led by
Morrison Utility Services Behavioural Change Manager Peter Sillett using proven
behavioural models and profiling tools.
Peter Sillett said: “Learning about behavioural
safety is important because our culture is defined
by our consistent behaviours that we challenge. We
get the culture we demonstrate we’re prepared to
accept through the behaviours we challenge and the
behaviours we don’t.”
on behaviour change before, not after the event.
James Martin, Openreach Regional Partner Manager
for the South East, said: “With the ever-growing
essential need for a superfast Britain, safety must
remain at the core of delivery.
Morrison Telecom Services SHEQ Director Richard
McCullough added: “This was an excellent
opportunity for Morrison Telecom Services and
Openreach to collaboratively work together, sharing
best practise and strengthening our behavioural safety
and cultural development programmes to collectively
achieve Zero Harm.”
“Organisations have a tendency to focus on negatives,
but this focus does not address people’s behaviour
or why they behave as they do in the long term. This
was a key section of the collaborative session, which
demonstrates that the sector should be concentrating
“Overall the session was a success, with positive
feedback from those who attended. I and the rest
of the management team are keen to expand this
valuable training to other teams.”
High Praise for
Morrison Telecom Services
Paul Hibberd would like to extend his thanks and
appreciation to Ben Fox for all of his hard work on the
Redbridge Project for Openreach. At times, it has been

ensure it was delivered on time for Highways England
and Openreach.
Paul said: “I would like to pass on my thanks and
appreciation to Ben Fox for all of his hard work on
the Redbridge project. I have thanked Ben personally
but would also like this forwarded to his managers.
This has been a challenging project at times but Ben
has always kept me updated with any issues and has
met the timescales imposed upon us by way of traffic
embargo’s.”
