Lastly, and best of all, to
promote outside learning and
green issues, the team erected
a large covered teaching area in
the garden under the trees to
allow classes to be led outside.
Demonstrating a part of the
Project Sector9s commitment to
delivering local impact.
A group of Milestone employees took part in a Coast to Coast cycling
challenge. This was organised to celebrate the first project in the North
West of England being delivered by Milestone.
The team of nine cycled 138 miles
over three days from Whitehaven on
the west coast of Cumbria to
Tynemouth on the east coast near
Newcastle. Throughout the three
days, the team climbed over 11,000
feet including Whinlatter Pass near
Keswick and Hartside Pass on the
edge of the North Pennines,
reaching a maximum altitude of
2000ft. Overall, the team raised
over £3,000 for four charities The Freedom Project in West
Cumbria, Whitehaven Community
Trust, The Lighthouse Charity and
the British Heart Foundation.
