Damian Macdonald, Traffic Safety Officer, contacted a local school close to
where Milestone was undertaking a significant project. Creating a competition
for the school children to design speed awareness posters for the project, the
best four were made into actual road signs which were placed along the
project site. Various groups in the school took part in the competition with
prizes given to the winners.
Recognising that the school required
some additional support with the
maintenance of its land, Milestone9s
Projects team volunteered two full days
to clear rubbish and debris from the
school grounds. The team also filled in
potholes in footpaths, cleared gutters,
and repaired fences. In alignment with
Milestone9s aspiration to improve
biodiversity, new planters were installed
and repaired in garden area for the
benefit of the school children.
