HEROES
Over the last 18 months, Katelyn
Bell has spread joy in Peterlee by
sharing her beauTful drawings.
Katelyn, a 6HyearHold student at
Dene House Primary School,
drew pictures to let people know
that their hard work was very
much appreciated during the
pandemic.
She visited many of the town’s
key workers, leaving lovely
drawings with a thank you
message. Katelyn’s kindness
earned her a Mayor’s Award and
a place in many hearts.
Well done Katelyn Bell, you are

heroes!

heroes, I wanted to send the below
regarding a client of ours, Delanoy
Funeral Services.
This is a quiet, unassuming industry,
but one that does so much to ensure
the las ng memories of its customers
are preserved and celebrated.

Delanoy Funeral Services has always
placed its customers at the forefront,
but during the pandemic, the Irm
truly went the extra mile.
Funerals are more o"en than not a
day to dread, and with the varying
levels of restricTons placed across the
4 Peterlee
UK in the past year, they’ve become
even tougher. It was these restricTons
which spurred Delanoy, which is run
by John Delanoy and Julie Stout, to do
something amazing for the
community.
As a result of the pandemic, the
limited funeral a+endance it forced,
and having seen the scenes from Italy,
Julie and John began to think of how
Delanoy could help families have the
best possible sendHo6 while adhering
to restricTons. This led to creaTng
bespoke videos and tributes as a
lasTng keepsake for bereaved loved
ones, as well as a way to share funeral
services with those who could not
a+end in person.
CreaTng more than 100 videos to
date, Delanoy has helped the
community grieve together when
forced to stay apart, allowing families
to say a Inal farewell when
lockdowns and travel bans meant
they couldn’t do so in person.
This service has been o6ered inH
house as part of the funeral package,
helping to keep prices down and
allowing families to opt for the service
they want and receive this muchH
treasured keepsake, rather than
worrying about costs at this stressful
Tme.
During a dicult Tme for us all,
Delanoy put its customers and the
community Irst, giving families and
friends an opportunity to be part of
their loved one’s Inal journey, when
the pandemic made it impossible. It
has truly gone above and beyond to
provide memories for people to
treasure forever.
