THE CHEQUERS IS OPEN!!
It is exciting to see that new people have
taken over The Chequers in the centre of
Lamberhurst.
Tom and Pippa Caddick and Wes and Becs
Anson are both local families with children
at the school, who have set out to create
a pub in the centre of the village that we
can all be proud of, and enjoy spending
time there. They have recruited a new
chef, Shaun Styles, and a front of house
manager Nick Brookes,
and will be
stocking a great range of English and
international wines, a good range of
beers, varied spirits, and local fruit juices.
Since January when they took it over, they
have been hard at work clearing and
tidying the garden, re-furbishing the fires
and chimney inside, dealing with leaks
and other surprises, and doing an allround re-decoration downstairs. Upstairs
is next!
The progress of this is recorded on their
Facebook
page:
The
Chequers
Lamberhurst and on their Instagram
@thechequerslamberhurst. Do take a
look.
COVID-19 put a damper on progress, but
The Chequers is now ready for visitors,
with all social distancing and hygiene
measures in place and bookings being
taken
by
email
reservations@chequerslamberhurst.com
and online bookings can also be taken on
the
website
https://www.chequerslamberhurst.com/
and by phone 01892 891850.
The Chequers has also launched The
Chequers Gardening Club, working with
volunteer gardeners in the village to
convert the walled garden area at the
back of The Chequers into a fully
functioning kitchen garden, producing
fruit and veg for the pub kitchen. Watch
this space!
THE CHEQUERS IS OPEN FROM
SATURDAY 4TH JULY.
Have your circumstances changed
because of Coronavirus?
As shops and businesses start to re-open
their doors for the first time since March,
we are all about to find out more about
what the ‘new normal’ looks like. Many of
you will have worries and concerns such
as:
Is it safe to return to work after being
furloughed?
What about if I am living with friends or
family members who are still shielding?
How can I work if my children are not
able to return to school?
Is my job at risk?
How will I pay my bills?
What should I do if I can’t pay my rent?
Will I be evicted?
Will Bailiffs come to my home?
Where is my nearest Food Bank?
How do I access mental health
support?
How do I access disability benefits?
