SCHOOL FUNDRAISING DURING COVID
Normally in June, the children, parents
and teachers of Lamberhurst school
would all have been involved in putting on
a fete for everyone to enjoy, raising
money for the school. In the past the fete
and other PTA events through the year
have helped to fund: sports equipment,
shelving for books, lighting for school
productions, outside reading areas, and
an extra sports playing area.
Eliza and Guy Parkinson raised an amazing
£162 with their cake sale!!!
This year’s pandemic put a stop to
normal-style fundraising, however the
school PTA was not deterred, and set to
work encouraging families to do their own
fundraising efforts remotely. A wonderful
range of activities took place – stalls
outside peoples’ houses, with cakes,
plants, various competitions, sponsored
bounces, hockey, bike rides, dog tricks,
water pistol target range, biscuit
decorating, and much more. Here is just a
small selection:
The Gooch family, with children Alice,
Beatrice and William and the involvement
of mum, aunt and granny, produced an
amazing set of cakes which went down
well even in the pouring rain to raise a
fantastic £140!!
Nell Barden cycled 13 miles round Bewl
Water raising £50!
Darcey and Sienna York played the long
game and sold their plants which they’d
started to grow many weeks before.
