SOHO
GREENWICH VILLAGE
SOHO
This renowned arty neighborhood of the 70’s and 80’s has evolved in to one of new York City’s
key shopping districts. Although SoHo (short for South of Houston Street) still features galleries,
it’s now full of high end, luxury shops and designer outlets. SoHo is also known for its elegant
cast-iron-facades and cobblestone streets, the neighborhood is also an atmospheric backdrop for
fashionable crowds clustering at high-end restaurants and nightlife hotspots.
CHELSEA
Chelsea is a diverse neighborhood, with a huge mixture of architecture, art, shopping, food, and
people. It was once a hub of industry but is now home to luxury high-rise apartment buildings
and converted industrial spaces housing everything from art galleries, foodie hot spots,
boutiques, and popular tourist attractions. One major thing to do in Chelsea is walk the high line,
which is a popular elevated park that stretches for just over a 1 1/2, connecting Gansevoort
Street in the Meatpacking district and the gateway to Greenwich Village to 34th street on
Manhattan’s far west side.
GREENWICH VILLAGE
Greenwich Village in New York is located in Manhattan. The neighborhood is fondly called ‘The
Village’, and was known as the center of New York’s bohemian movement in the 1960’s and was
a progressive enclave for gay rights in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Today, the charm of this area lies
with the local entrepreneurs and their smaller, unique shops and restaurants.
